The “centerpiece” of WARZONES : ASSAULT ATTACK are FOUR MASSIVE new “STRONGHOLDS”… each one quite a bit larger than the city of Whiterun, and each one containing both EXTERIOR and INTERIOR locations, a narrative, new loot, new bosses and enough challenge to test even the heartiest player’s prowess.
The BROADSKY QUARRY : STORMCLOAK OCCUPIED
From Encyclopaedia Bellum: “Built during the Second Era, the town of Broadsky was established as an homage to the Honored Dead buried in the surrounding mountains. Scattered records tell of a cycle of warmth (circa 3E 250), causing the snow to melt and submerge the town. Broadsky quickly fell into the realm of legend. In 4E 150, Broadsky’s entrance was unearthed by Orcs who quickly entered an agreement affording the Imperial Museum of History rights to rebuild and dig in the area. Many artifacts have been uncovered and placed on display in the Museum.”
On a mission to recover a precious artifact, STORMCLOAKS have taken the town and quarry from the IMPERIALS. Take it back.
The CYRODIIL MINING FACILITY : IMPERIAL OCCUPIED
Excerpt from the Encyclopaedia Bellum : “Built within ancient ruins, the Imperial Mining Facility at Cryodiil produces nearly 30% of the mineral resources distributed throughout Skyrim. Recently, a third mine – rumored to hold unimaginable amounts of Gold – has been unearthed. The destruction or hampering of operations in this facility would be a great boon to the Stormcloaks in this region. Helmed with cool efficiency by Commander Antonius, the Mining Facility is heavily fortified, surrounded by minefields and clearly does not take kindly to visitors.”
Fight your way to the Commander. Overtake the Imperials. Help the Stormcloaks win the war!
HIGH ROCK STOCKPILE : IMPERIAL OCCUPIED
Excerpt from the Encyclopaedia Bellum : “In recent years, the Imperial Legion have fortified a Dwemer stronghold situated within the riverbed that naturally divides Skyrim from High Rock. The original purpose of is lost to time but, taking full advantage of the remote location, Imperial Quartermaster LeddBate stockpiles and distributes armament throughout the North. Approach with caution as very few are welcome here. One can only imagine the riches held within.”
Damage the IMPERIAL’s ability to supply troops in the northermost reaches of Skyrim. Kill the Commander. Get out alive with everything you can carry!
The RUUNVALD SAFEHOUSE : STORMCLOAK OCCUPIED
Excerpt from Encyclopaedia Bellum: “Jokingly considered “Ulfric’s Last Resort”, the Ruunvald Area Ruins are used as a safe-house and stronghold for the Stormcloaks. The Ruunvald Stronghold is well secured high atop the mountain, accessible only by an ancient staircase and protected by elite Stormcloaks. The current commander of the Stronghold is said to be eccentric but cunning, capturing hoards of undead and other creatures for reasons unknown. Recently rumour has that a VIP has been secreted away to this location for protection. It is a given that the fall of the Ruunvald Stronghold will benefit the Imperial Army immeasurably. Needless to say, visitors are not welcome. ”
Destroy the stockpile. Hunt the VIP. Enrage Ulfric. Good times.
HOW DO I FIND THESE STRONGHOLDS?
Wander around the world. Locate and find notes placed throughout the land. You are given more than enough clues to find each one. And when you do, come armed to the teeth.
WHY CAN’T I GET IN?
Well, if you have joined a particular faction, you will not be allowed access to that faction’s Stongholds. For instance, if you have joined the Civil War on the Stormcloak side, you will not be given access to the Stormcloak Occupied Stongholds.
Why? It’d be no fun to allow you to scope the place out, then come back as a member of the other team.
I AM NEUTRAL, CAN I GET IN?
Yes. But nobody takes kindly to you wishy-washy types. You will be fired upon… and you won’t be neutral for long.
